I’m posting today’s and tomorrow’s because I want to give you all a rest before our practice on the 16th. So Day 14 is Vrikasana, better known as tree pose. This a great one to help you out with your balance. I love this pose, because it really can vary a lot just from closingContinue reading “Day 14 & 15”

Day 13: Kapotasana
Better known as Pigeon Pose, this probably goes down as one of my all time favorite poses. There are a ton of variations of it, but all of them have the benefit of opening up your hips and you deciding how deep you want to get into the pose. For me personally, I prefer theContinue reading “Day 13: Kapotasana”
Day 12
I can’t believe we are already about halfway done! Today’s pose is Viparita Karani: Legs Up The Wall. This is meant to be restorative and hanging out here for at least five minutes. This is a great pose if you’re having a tough day, struggling to go to sleep, etc. This pose honestly has aContinue reading “Day 12”
Day 10 & 11
We’ll start off what I had planned for Day 10: Shakti Asana. Better known as Warrior Goddess Pose. It’s a super fun and empowering pose. Combining it with a lions breath (you stick your tongue out and exhale with gusto), I personally feel super energized and just on top of the world with this pose.Continue reading “Day 10 & 11”
Day 9: Goddess Pose
So just a little disclaimer with this one. There are different variations and Sanskrit names for this pose. I’ve never found anything that strictly says, “this is the best name etc.” Keeping that in mind, I’m going by how I’ve always known it and the Sanskrit. But Goddess Pose can be known as Utkata Konasana.Continue reading “Day 9: Goddess Pose”
Day 8: Reverse Warrior
The Sanskrit is a mouthful this time around: Viparita Virabhadrasana. I absolutely love this pose. It’s very opening but soothing at the same time. I love the warrior poses because they all really build up on each other. Your legs and feet will feel a sense of familiarity because it’s just like Warrior I &Continue reading “Day 8: Reverse Warrior”
Day 7: Warrior III
Better known as Virabhadrasana III in Sanskrit, Warrior III is probably our most challenging pose since starting the 31 Days of Poses. Aside from attempting to keep your balance, breathing is probably the most important thing we need to do when in this pose. We often don’t inhale as much as we are focusing so muchContinue reading “Day 7: Warrior III”
Day 6: Warrior II
Or known as, Virabhadrasana II. This is probably my favorite of the warrior poses. While slightly different from Warrior I, I think it brings calmness to the body while testing out your balance. This is a pose you will need to “share the wealth” and make sure you do for both the left and rightContinue reading “Day 6: Warrior II”
Day 5: Warrior I
In honor of Mother’s Day, the rest of this week’s poses focus on some variation of “Warrior Pose.” Every mom is a warrior in some way: whether it’s the carpool warrior, or the single mom, each one has their strengths. Warrior I, is known as Virabhadrasana. It’s a great pose for strengthening the shoulders, whileContinue reading “Day 5: Warrior I”
Day 4: Bridge Pose
Also known as Setu Bandha Sarvasana, this is also a favorite pose of mine. Sadly with this one, there is no modification for the chair (that I’m aware of). But it’s a favorite of mine because you can really feel this pose no matter the level of intensity you stay in it. The most importantContinue reading “Day 4: Bridge Pose”
